[IQUG] [iqug] Insert failed with error code SQLCode: -1006003, SQLState: 'QBA03' on HG index

Hi Lan,

You are doing a drop and create, followed immediately by a rebuild… Is it always failing on the rebuild ? @Ray – is this the same in your case ?

I don’t see any reason why the rebuild is necessary after the initial creation in the first place.

Why not just leave it alone after the initial (re)create ?

David

            Thanks, Ray.
            I dropped the index and the job continues to run now. However, after the insert finishes, I would have to create that index again due to query performance.
            Do you think it would let me create the index without complaining then ?

I have experienced issues like this with indexes, too. I see this on a set of indexes when trying to rebuild them (sp_iqrebuildindex) on a space reduction exercise. This even occurs on the same index in multiple databases (prod, test and dev example below). We have reported it to SAP IQ support, but, in short, they are clueless. While my process just calls the rebuild procedure, but when I find them I run through something like this:

drop index DJO.mps_claims.pharmacy_npi_hg;
create hg index pharmacy_npi_hg on DJO.mps_claims(pharmacy_npi);
call sp_iqrebuildindex('DJO.mps_claims', 'index pharmacy_npi_hg');

The rebuild index procedure still crashes out every time and produces output like what you have shown below. This typically happens when the table is large (500+M rows)

My recommendation is to just drop the index.

Ray

            Hello,
            We are on SAP IQ/16.0.110.2337/10364/P/sp11.06/RS6000MP/AIX 6.1.0/64bit/2017-01-25 13:42:04
            We have a select insert monthly job that run successfully for years. Yesterday, it failed after 147000000 Rows. I modified the job to insert a shorter range of data. Second time it failed at 7500000 rows.
            Has anyone ran into this issue? Is this some limitation on HG index? If so, would dropping the index help?
